MotoGP | GP Argentina Qualifying: Rossi, “We are competitive in the dry. Miller deserved pole"

MotoGP Yamaha Movistar GP Argentina Qualifying – Valentino Rossi did not go beyond the fourth row in qualifying for the Argentine Grand Prix, the second round of the 2018 MotoGP championship scheduled for tomorrow at 20 pm Italian time.

The Yamaha champion ran into trouble when the track was neither completely dry nor completely wet. His Yamaha M1 struggles in mixed conditions and for tomorrow Rossi hopes for an all-dry or all-wet race. The word is up to him.

“In our conditions we couldn't use the slicks. We would have gone slower, our bike doesn't work well in mixed conditions. I have always used the harder compound, which for me is also too soft, we were in great difficulty, both at the front and at the rear. If I tried to push, it closed in front of me.”

Was it really not possible to use soft tires?

“Someone uses them, but we who put them in FP4 immediately ran into trouble. After two laps I had to return to the pits, the bike was unrideable.”

Are you hoping for a dry or wet race?

“Either all dry or all wet. We are very competitive in the dry and it's not bad in the wet either. However, we struggle in mixed conditions.”

What do you think of the lap that gave Jack Miller pole?

“Jack was good, he took some risks, but he stayed up and took pole. He was also fast with the rain tires. If she heard it, he had courage and he had it in spades, he was very good. He deserved the pole."
