MotoGP GP Argentina LCR Honda – Eighth and ninth position for Cal Crutchlow and Takaaki Nakagami in qualifying for the Argentine Grand Prix, second round of this 2019 MotoGP championship.

Thanks to Honda's excellent competitiveness on the Termas de Rio Hondo track, the LCR team's standard bearers managed to gain access to Q2, placing immediately behind the official Yamahas and the M1s of Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo.

A positive qualifying that will allow them to attack from the first laps of this evening's Grand Prix.

“Needless to say, the third row wasn't what I wanted from these qualifying sessions,” Cal Crutchlow said. “On my last lap in Q2 I didn't have a great feeling with the rear tire and I couldn't stop the bike in the places I preferred in several corners of the track. Added to this are two mistakes I made at turn nine and I lost the chance to start from the front row. Starting from eighth place makes everything more complicated but I'm optimistic. This is a track where I won and the race pace is definitely good."

Here are Taakaki Nakagami's ratings: “I am very satisfied with this second day here at Termas because we improved session after session. Even in FP4 the race pace is good and the only flaw of the day was the passage in Q1 but I finished with the best time going into Q2 and I want to thank the Team for the excellent work they did. The weather doesn't look favorable for tomorrow but if it were to be a dry race, we have the potential to do well and perhaps finish in the top seven/eight."
