Many would have liked to see him on the track as a wild-card, but instead they will have to "settle" to see him on a lap of honour. We are talking about Casey Stoner, who will perform a lap of honor together with Mick Doohan and Wayne Gardner on the occasion of the Australian Grand Prix of the MotoGP class. The twenty-seven year old Australian has won the last six editions of Phillip Island and last year a corner was also named after him, the "Stoner Corner", which you can see in the photo.

“It will be nice to get out on track with Mick and Wayne this year without the pressure of competition,” he said Stoner as reported by Fox Sport Australia -I can't wait to enjoy this moment together with the fans who have supported me throughout my career.”

“The fans undoubtedly love him, I can't wait to do my “part” he added Mick doohan.

“Casey will be at Phillip Island and our fans will be thrilled to see him again in action on his favorite track, supported by Mick and Wayne. – He finally said Andrew Westacott, Australian Grand Prix Corporation chief executive officer – It will be a unique and electrifying opportunity for fans of all ages.”

The event will be held shortly before the start of the MotoGP race scheduled for October 20th.
