Gigi Dall'Igna, General Director of Ducati Corse, spoke after the Catalunya GP, seventh stage of the 2014 world championship. There is moderate satisfaction in his words. The gap to the leaders compared to 2013 has in fact decreased, but there is still a lot of work to be done to catch up with them. The word is up to him

“Obviously we are very disappointed that once again Cal's bike (Cruchlow, ed.) had a problem in the race: it's something that shouldn't happen. We are now carefully analyzing all the data to understand the true nature of the problem. Andrea (Dovizioso, ed.) gave his all until the end of the race, setting a time of 1'43.3 on the last lap and maintaining a pace that was constant for all 25 laps. We still have a lot of work to do but at the moment, if we look at our gap from the leaders, we can be moderately satisfied. "

It should be added that the new bike, the one he designed, will not be seen on the track this year, at least until the post-GP tests in Valencia, where a prototype that is not yet definitive could make its debut.

We'll see, they haven't made a new bike since at least 2012 and in my opinion not even the 2012 one with the new 1000cc engine was completely new. Let's at least hope that they make an official bike that is better than the satellites and that will compete with Suzuki and perhaps quickly lose its privileges, because it manages to place itself on the podium, it would also be time to see 3 or 4 different brands up front fighting for the victory.

OK, there can't be a category where only 2 manufacturers compete...to tell the truth, even formula one and so do, but that shouldn't be a justification, on the contrary!!..
