MotoGP GASGAS KTM – Team GASGAS Tech3 has made the 2024 line-up official. Surprisingly, with the promoted Pedro Acosta there will not be Pol Espargarò, but Augusto Fernandez, who this year raced his first season in MotoGP. Below is the press release.

GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 will continue to showcase some of Spain's best and brightest talent in MotoGP with Augusto Fernandez and Pedro Acosta entering the 2024 championship on the GASGAS RC16. Reigning Moto2 World Champion and 2023 MotoGP rookie, Augusto Fernandez, will remain with the GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 team for his second year at the top level.

The 26-year-old Majorcan has attracted attention by scoring points in all but two of the 14 Grands Prix so far this season and achieving a best result of 4th place at the French Grand Prix. In Japan last weekend he achieved his second best ranking with a 7th place finish. Augusto has shown potential and maturity and will be joined by the man who could be the next Moto2 World Champion.

Pedro Acosta is only in his third full season in world competition, but the prolific 19-year-old has won the Moto3 title (2021), the Moto2 rookie title (2022) and boasts 11 podiums this season. Acosta has the ability and pure natural talent to join the MotoGP grid and complete an extraordinary journey through the company's talent structure from being Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Champion in 2020 to premier class rider in 2024.

GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 driver, Pol Espargaro, will occupy a crucial and highly regarded position for the Pierer Mobility Motorsport project next year. The 32-year-old was part of this joint decision for the short- and long-term future of the company's MotoGP goals. Pol is highly appreciated for his commitment and experience; right from the early days of the Pierer Mobility Group's entry into MotoGP through to its dedicated quest to return to competitiveness after the injury suffered in early 2023. #44 is an important resource to support talented young athletes and maintain the strength of the his current competitive structure and his humility is demonstrated by his desire to assist the next generation hoping to follow in his footsteps. Pol's character, energy and ability mean that he will still be a leading member of the MotoGP program on both sides of the pit wall.

Statements Pit Beirer, GASGAS Motorsports Director Acosta Fernandez 2024

“We had to make an important and difficult decision for Team GASGAS 2024. Augusto has made impressive first steps in MotoGP and we are totally convinced that he has the speed and intelligence to continue to progress. Pedro is a very special talent who has already achieved a lot and in 2024 he will learn to take the next step with the big boys in MotoGP. I want to thank Pol (Espargarò) for everything he has done and for everything he will continue to do for us. This guy is super tough and super determined and that's why we want to count on him as an important part of our structure. Pol's openness and proactivity deserve my deepest respect. It underlines the greatness of him as a person, that he gave us a hand in this situation. He also shows his passion for the sport and his thoughts for the future. With these pieces in place and with Hervé, Nicolas and the entire Team and their experience, we have an exciting year ahead for the GASGAS brand.”
