The Italian-Brazilian rider added: "I still need 30% to go very fast"

MotoGP Franco Morbidelli – The new Moto2 class world champion, Franco Morbidelli, as many will know by now, will make his debut in the premier class next year, with the team with which he raced in the intermediate class, Marc VDS.

The history and life of the Italian-Brazilian rider is different from that of many other champions: he comes from a family with poor economic resources, he made his debut directly in the intermediate class after winning the European Superstock 600 championship in 2013 but above all he has a family history very difficult behind him, with his father who committed suicide the same year as his consecration in the European championship.

Morbidelli was to all intents and purposes the first rider of Valentino Rossi's VR46 Rider Academy, from whom he still continues to learn, despite the fact that next year they will race in the same category as opponents, as stated in an interview with Marca.com.

The Italian-Brazilian driver was asked if he felt he was Valentino Rossi's heir

“It's very difficult for me, all the Italian riders have the task of replacing Vale when he retires, because sooner or later he will retire, unfortunately, therefore, all of us are Vale's heirs in the sense that we will have to do everything right to replace him, it is impossible for just one person to cover everything Valentino has done."

Morbidelli was also asked if his mentor will be able to win his tenth title, if he occasionally gives him any advice to the nine-time world champion and what is the secret of his preparation

“If Vale is fit, he feels good with the bike, the Yamaha works well, certainly yes, he has everything that is necessary, he is older, but he has the necessary enthusiasm, the right talent and it seems that his motivation does not want drop, so why not?. I don't give Rossi any advice, unless it's a video game or something like that, music or anything else, but I can't on motorbikes. For preparation, the most important thing he has is the Ranch. He has this. Dirt track is a very difficult discipline, especially if you do it on a track like this, which is gigantic, it is very technical, very complicated, for me you train like any other driver, the difference is talent."

Franco had the chance to get on a MotoGP bike during pre-season testing last month, but it seems his typical tranquility hasn't been shattered by the new bike

“The MotoGP is a fantastic bike. It's very powerful. The problem will be being able to go fast by thinking about the electronics, the behavior of the tires, the chassis. Now I'm looking for the way to go very fast. I'm at about 60 percent, maybe 70, but finding that 30 will be difficult. I felt comfortable with the Honda, I thought it's a very rider friendly bike in the sense that the times I did in Valencia and Jerez I did easily, I don't think it's too aggressive and too difficult. Logically, I'm missing something from the point of view of my riding, I don't know if the Yamaha is easier to ride, I was very comfortable with the Honda and I liked it a lot.”

The reigning Moto2 world champion also spoke about his future and his possible inclusion in a hypothetical team created by Rossi

“The problem will be to go fast, the important thing for me is to be fast, at least, like Johann (Zarco), which will be difficult because he was very strong, and then we'll see, whoever deserves an official bike will have it. Joining a team created by Valentino would be fantastic, it would be something precious, without a doubt, but I still see it as a very distant hypothesis, Vale will still race for many years."

Morbidelli was an important player in the market and, as he says, he received several offers

“I talked to other teams, there were others who were interested in taking me to MotoGP, but I opted for the best choice for me. I stayed in the same team because it is a fantastic team, with a great structure, an excellent base, great sponsors and great support from abroad, which is why I stayed with them and I am very happy. “

in my opinion Rossi's heir was already there, poor SIC!!!, not so much for the results, which Rossi obtained especially in a period where the toughest opponent was Gibernau therefore difficult to replicate today with the level of drivers of today, and unfortunately fate didn't leave him time to demonstrate his true talent, but humanly in the crowd you could feel that he was becoming him, that he was one step away from taking that place
if instead we want to make a riding comparison I would say that today they are sons of stoners, Marquez first and foremost, he revolutionized the way of being a champion and style
valentino with all due respect has not influenced any generation

With all due respect, your problem is that you're stupid and you don't realize it.

I live in a beautiful villa, I have a Porsche in the garage, I'm not married and the woman I'm seeing everyone says she's a nice girl, I'm fine with being stupid then...

I would add TALIBAN, a fanatic beyond belief, a retarded and limited fanatic.

These are your pearls of education.

Dear Nando, review your concept of evaluating education, apart from the fact that I have never called you retarded and limited... here tonycart expressed his thoughts in a polite way, you may not even agree with his idea , but someone who calls him an idiot for no reason is just a joke to me, if one of you super Rossi fans had written the same thing, which is otherwise very agreeable, the response of the "doctor46" phenomenon it would have been very different.
At least now you have a reason to call me rude.

strange but I agree on this, I agree less on the value of the pilots, but that's another story….

instead I want to reiterate that Rossi as a driver, like it or not, has given visibility to this sport, at least in Italy....

damn… do you remember the world championship before the 90s?? on Rai 3 and very often, not to mention always deferred at 23pm with the bare minimum of cameras...

sorry... I meant "until the 90s"

Rossi has certainly raised the spectacle of the world championship to these levels, but if we talk about style, I would say that Stoner has invented a new way of racing, probably the best interpretation to make today's bikes go fast, Marquez is the king today of that style and I think that any boy who starts running now is inspired and would like to imitate him...

    3. whose said:

true, Stoner had a unique riding style, I think Marquez is the only one who interprets the electronics best, but I don't like belittling the riders like this, to attribute demerit to another. I remind you that in 2008 and 2009 there were Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa... actually if we really want to talk about innovation, I would say that Pedro brought a new riding style, which many were inspired by...

No no I didn't want to give any demerits to Rossi or even to others who in recent years season more season less have been very strong, as you say also Pedro, Lorenzo, Dovizioso, but in my opinion Stoner made a leap in time, the others who you say, despite very fast riders they didn't impress me with their very regular riding style similar to many before them I don't find it revolutionary and especially with Pedro! I don't understand why Marquez would be the king of electronics? I think he's the only one who drives as if the vehicle were still only mechanical with its very disorganized style, you don't mean that it gets up on its feet or does certain acrobatics thanks to torque meters or other fantasies! that is the largest handle in the world, and I support Ducati and I have no interested in saying it...

  • whose said:

at the moment Marquez is the strongest rider, but I don't think it's possible to do certain stunts unless someone helps you, the only mechanical means were the 500s, you had very little margin for error, if you made a mistake you were down... and anyway for me he is not a demerit, on the contrary, he is the rider who manages to make the most of the potential of these modern bikes...
