MotoGP – Elias: "Lots of incentives to continue with Gresini"

Immediately after the Estoril victory, Toni Elias met Fausto Gresini who offered him a contract renewal. The Spaniard did not miss the opportunity to race with the new Honda V4 800, and so today the official announcement arrived, to the satisfaction of the former 250cc protagonist who declared as follows…

“I am happy to have reached this agreement. The renewal offers me the opportunity to continue a project started this year with Honda and Fausto Gresini. There are many incentives to continue: my priority was in fact to work with Honda in Fausto Gresini's team, supported by my crew chief Fabrizio Cecchini. In this choice I first of all evaluated the technical, sporting and human component. I thought about my career as a driver and I'm very happy because I have all the elements that I consider fundamental to grow and do well. Now I would like to close the last race of the season with a good result. But I'm also already looking forward, I want to start working for 2007. I'll have an 800cc Honda and I can't wait to get on the bike. There is all the promise to do a good job of pre-season preparation during the winter"
