Not exactly comforting news for Dani Pedrosa who will have to undergo an operation immediately after the Spanish Grand Prix to "fix" the problem in his left arm that slowed him down at the end of the race in Qatar. After several medical tests carried out by Dr. Eusebio Sala Planell, the Repsol Honda Team rider was diagnosed with intermittent compression of the subclavian artery which causes numbness and lack of strength in his left arm. We remind you that Pedrosa had undergone surgery due to a double fracture of his left collarbone after an accident in the 2010 Japanese Grand Prix. The Spanish driver should then be ready to compete in Estoril on May 1st.

“It's never good to have surgery, but we've waited a long time looking for an answer to the effects of that injury and I'm relaxed because I finally know what happened. Now, we are in Jerez and I want to focus on the race, working with my team in the best way possible to prepare for the Grand Prix. This race is special, the crowd is always there to give you an extra point and I hope they will help me this time too as always. I like the track, I have always had good results and I face the weekend trying to do my best in my physical condition."
