Dani Pedrosa, as already written yesterday, is not on track in Sepang where Honda is carrying out tests with Marc Marquez (his team-mate in 2013) and Alvaro Bautista. After a season in which he was a great protagonist, the Spanish centaur decided to "pull the plug" until the Sepang tests at the end of January 2013. The Repsol Honda Team rider declared the following through his Repsol blog.

“Hi, I'm leaving 2012 and waiting for next year. I'm doing it after a year which I think has been very positive. We set ourselves a goal at the start of the season and we were close to achieving it. We were fighting for the title until the end and we won many races. I am proud of the work we have done, but above all of the work of my entire team. Overall the balance was very positive. I also feel very proud of your constant support. Your encouragement is greatly appreciated, both when things are going well and when things are going badly. And every time we have some race or some event, I am always surprised by the amount of fans present, many from other cities and just to meet me, even just for an autograph. You are the best fans anyone could have. This is why I promise that next year I will return to fight with the same strength or even more. Now it's time to rest a bit. The truth is that this period will not be very long, a couple of weeks and then I will go back to doing some physical exercise, in fact it is not a good idea to rest for too long. And anyway I can't wait to get back on my motocross bike, my mountain bike... We don't intend to sit idle before Christmas! On Saturday we'll see each other at the Fan Club dinner! And for the rest I wish you all a Merry Christmas with your family and friends. Greetings Dani.”
