MotoGP Catalunya: Marc Marquez “Special day today, also for my brother's victory”

Marc Marquez had to sweat it out, but in the end he won his seventh consecutive race of the year on his home circuit, in Catalunya. The world championship leader battled throughout the race with his team-mate and Valentino Rossi, managing to get the upper hand and sending the 92.045 spectators into raptures. This success brings Honda its hundredth success in MotoGP.

“At the beginning of the race I struggled a lot, because the Yamaha riders were very competitive said Marquez – I immediately tried to follow Valentino (Rossi, ed.) but I made a mistake at the end of the straight and I had to widen the trajectory to avoid take further risks. It was a good fight with Dani (Pedrosa, ed.) perhaps the first real battle with my teammate. On the last lap at turn 10, he touched me, but that's how racing is, especially when you're playing for victory on the last lap.”

His brother Alex also won today, riding the Honda Moto3 of Team Estrella Galicia 0.0. “Today was a special day, also for my brother's victory”.
