Casey Stoner, Australian Ducati rider, as well as 2007 world champion and 2008 vice-champion of the MotoGP class, analyzes after the first race the work of the Borgo Panigale company which, with the Desmosedici GP9 and the introduction of a carbon frame and swingarm, has made a big step forward. The dominator of the inaugural race of the 2009 world championship in Losail, Qatar, (reached his seventeenth victory in MotoGP) interviewed by MCN talks about the new bike and the introduction of the aforementioned carbon frame; chassis which largely solved the "pumping" problems of the GP7 and GP8. Here are his words.

“The 2007 and 2008 bikes weren't very different. With the GP8 we stiffened the chassis at the front and towards the end of the season we improved the engine output. But we never had what we needed and we made a big step with the Desmosedici GP9 in this sector. I think also the new swingarm and the frame both made of carbon and the way the engine has so much torque makes the riding a lot easier. It's by far the biggest step forward we've made and we hope it's the biggest.”
