The debate on the introduction of a minimum weight between bike and rider in MotoGP has seen Dani Pedrosa take sides against the possible new rule. The Repsol Honda Team rider as written here he is in fact convinced that there are advantages for a featherweight like his but it is also true that there are many disadvantages. An example that the former world champion of the 125 and 250cc classes has given is the changes in direction that see him at a disadvantage due to his lower weight. Let's remember that Pedrosa weighs 21 kg less than Marco Simoncelli. While the Team Gresini rider and Valentino Rossi are inclined towards the minimum weight rule, Casey Stoner instead takes Pedrosa's side.

“In my opinion this is an interesting topic and a lot of people have a valid point of view, but to be honest, I feel sorry for Dani and his situation – said Stoner as reported by MCN – There are pros and cons to everything . In some situations Dani's size is definitely not an advantage and bigger riders have an advantage. We have a lot more horses now than there were in the two-stroke days and no one was complaining that much. Some drivers complain more now than they did then, this despite the fact that we have more power and more trouble finding traction. I think this is the most important part. If one is heavier it should get traction easier. There has been a lot of controversy about the new era with the introduction of electronics and traction control and people try to make excuses everywhere for different things; there are pros and cons to everything. Dani's size causes him many difficulties in changing direction and at the same time those who are heavier have disadvantages on the straights and perhaps when exiting corners. But their bikes are much more stable than they are for lighter ones. There will always be discussions about this.”

But what the hell is Stoner saying? At the time there were fewer horses, but there was no consumption problem. What kind of competition is it if one has to limit the power used on the motorbike based on consumption? Truly, they would be pitiful if they thought before speaking or took advice instead of telling the bullshit.

If Camomillo thinks he is at a disadvantage, why doesn't he weigh himself down a bit? So he recovers the disadvantage..

Dani never said he had an advantage, he just said that there are negative sides to being light and not just positive as everyone makes it seem..

In 4-wheel motorsport the minimum weight is customary in all categories from karting to f1-
However the weight makes a big difference!!!

In F1 drivers like Kubica or Webber follow specific diets and workouts to keep their weight under control.
Maybe Casey doesn't know it but there are around 800 horses at stake there and yet...!

Perhaps because Stoner is referring to the fact that when there were 2-strokes, having less horsepower, the weight/power ratio of the motorbike was less favorable than now, where the power has grown, while the weight of the motorbikes has remained almost unchanged , or perhaps diminished... So rightly so, if we weren't complaining then, why do it now, where the weight has less influence? Perhaps Stoner wanted to say in a somewhat strange way, that instead of looking for unjust solutions, we should use the handle as was done once to make up for some disadvantages... In fact it's not Pedrosa's fault that he was born a dwarf and light, and it's certainly not thanks to his weight that he's a good rider... Greetings
