MotoGP | Happy Birthday Sic!

Hi Sic! Today is a special day because not only is it your birthday but also because today it is being inaugurated “Marco Simoncelli House”.

It's a nice birthday present right? Even if you should have been the one to discard it... The creation of this structure to support young people with disabilities is yet another demonstration of how many people love you and want to keep your memory alive by supporting your beautiful Foundation.

The affection that has grown more and more since that cursed October 23rd is surprising. There isn't a day that a photo, a number on the receipt or looking at the time, brings a smile to your face because it connects us to you.

You know what though? I wish this gratitude and love towards you had been there even when you were chasing your dream.
Yes, because not everyone appreciated you, there were those who said that you were too aggressive, those who said that you made too many mistakes and that you would never win...
They were wrong. Everyone who has motorcycling in their blood was sure that sooner or later your moment in MotoGP would come and... it was coming. How cool it would have been to see you struggle with that “strange wonderful people”, with your brawls that made our hearts skip a beat every time.

Unfortunately the "lady dressed in black" wanted to break that beautiful spell and took you away from us.
It was a beautiful fairy tale, which didn't have the happy ending we were hoping for. However, death did not win that Sunday in Malaysia because you remain immortal in the hearts of your fans, in the dreams of children who start racing and put your number on their motorbike or helmet.

Your story must be an example for all those who give up in the face of difficulties, because as you said, “One thing that matters in life is having a goal”.
