The eleventh stage of the 2013 world championship for Team Ducati Pramac ends with both riders in the points and Andrea Iannone (ninth, in the photo) in the top ten, having once again lost Ben Spies due to injury, fielding test rider Michele Pirro on the track , who finished the race in twelfth position.

Andrea Iannone was satisfied as, despite the two falls and the after-effects of the injury, he managed to keep up with his team mates Dovizioso and Hayden and to be consistent.
Less happy, however, is Michele Pirro, who lacked feeling with the front, which pushed him not to overdo it in view of the marathon that awaits him in the next few days, which will see him involved in the Misano tests and the subsequent grand prix of Silverstone next Sunday.

Andrea Iannone
“The race started well, I'm happy. During the first laps my pace was very similar to that of Nicky and Dovi, and I managed to be consistent. This means that we are improving, we are growing and working well. After the 10th lap I started to struggle, I had no strength when braking and accelerating and I couldn't stay attached to the bike. This weekend was however positive, after two crashes, and after the tiring days faced, also due to my injury, we had a good race. Of course if we could have a week off, it would be better for me physically, flying directly to Silverstone and doing another race next week doesn't help. I just hope it doesn't get worse because at least I know what to expect. We see."

Michele Pirro
“After the warm-up I thought I could have a bit more feeling with the front, but that wasn't the case. The only thing we changed was the soft tyre, but on the front I didn't find the feeling I had this morning. This lack penalizes me a lot, and honestly I didn't want to take unnecessary risks also because now 3 days of testing await me at Misano and then the Silverstone race. I'm sorry because I really thought I would do better, but let's see if we can do it next week, even if I'm struggling a lot more than expected with this bike.”
