MotoGP 2016 Brno Michelin – The MotoGP Czech Republic Grand Prix, in addition to giving the first career victory to Cal Crutchlow (hard tires on both the rear and front), rider of Lucio Cecchinello's Team LCR, will also be remembered for the degradation of the soft rain tires , which affected the official Ducatis, those of Team Pramac and Jorge Lorenzo.

As you can see from the photo, the soft front of Iannone's Desmosedici GP is practically destroyed, with pieces of tread detached. However, Iannone heroically managed to cross the finish line in eighth position (this after having been in the lead for a long time), while his team-mate Dovizioso had the same problem much earlier, exactly on the ninth lap, forcing the Forlì rider to return to the box, thus compromising his race.

Remaining at Ducati (Pramac Racing), Scott Redding had the same problem, also in the leading positions for a long time and then forced to give way until he reached the finish line in fifteenth position. It went a little better for Danilo Petrucci, who came seventh.

Jorge Lorenzo's race was also characterized by a problem with the front tyres, with the Majorcan finishing with zero points, also ceding second place in the standings to his team-mate Valentino Rossi.

Here is Michelin's explanation in this regard: “Some riders suffered extreme wear from the softer version of the front tire as the track dried, this happened because the tire is designed for full wet conditions.”

This explanation could partly "calm down" the controversy over French tyres, which for better or worse has been characterizing the championship since the beginning of the year.

The only ones to do well with the soft compound were Marc Marquez and Hector Barberà, two "small" riders compared to Iannone, Dovizioso, Redding and Petrucci. This could be an explanation, as could the riding style and also the presence of more "pronounced" fins on the Ducati compared to the Honda, also considering that Barberà didn't have them, however.

One could criticize those who chose the soft despite knowing that there would be risks involved, but many were thinking of a flag-to-flag race, which didn't happen given that unlike the Sachsenring, the track took a long time to dry.

Another explanation could also be that of riding style, here are Dovizioso's words in this regard, who however underlines that an intermediate compound would have been needed in Brno.

“It also depends on riding styles and the setting of the bikes. I ruined them before with my driving style, driving has a great influence, even if it doesn't depend only on that. We are not here to make excuses, but we would need to have a wider range of choice."

Don't worry, that tire was made for the rain, those who were running like snails in the first part of the race preserved it, the others destroyed it...if the weather decided rain....
These are things that happen, yesterday it went well for Rossi and other times for others
Only if the weather helps Rossi we're talking about high strategy, race vision, intelligence...
Of course, and last time's flight over the water with the pit wall struggling because it didn't return, how do you explain it? intelligence and vision of the race???

And why, SKARTO, didn't you write the same thing when Marquez took a risk with the slicks at the Sachsenring and it went well...?? This time the right choice was made by Rossi but the situation was similar, only that for Marc it was an "intelligent choice" for Rossi only a question of kul0, nice coherence congratulations.. The truth is that in these unpredictable conditions the difference between being a big or a rubbish is so subtle that it is a question of kul0 for EVERYONE not just for Vale.. The second truth is that you don't understand a KA220 but this is not a secret for anyone...

    Skarto, you're sick!!

Skarto….anyway first place went to Cal in case you hadn't noticed. It wasn't just your nightmare on the track. Instead Giorgi finished last but won the pit stop race with 2 bike changes!

There's little to say, apart from Cal everyone had the soft front tyre, whoever used it best got to the end, the strongest rider is the most complete, Lorenzo is not complete.

Sorry, I haven't read other articles yet, but not only Cal had the hard tire, but also Vale and some other riders if I'm not mistaken.

You see, you don't understand anything.. Instead of writing useless rivers of words, read every now and then and inform yourself, only Cal had the hard FRONT, the others you mentioned had the hard REAR and the soft front..

The only nightmare in my life was Rossi on the Ducati...

Of course the Ducati goes really well on water..

Giorgito Lorenzito el Mantequilla will take care of bringing it back next year in case the track is not perfectly dry..

But what rears! He takes her straight back to the pits! And if they push him back on track, do you know what he'll do? Back to the pits!!! Buhahahahahahahaha
