Alvaro Bautista renews Aspar – After a 2-year parenthesis in Aprilia, Alvaro Bautista immediately found himself at ease on the Aspar team's Ducati GP16. In the first races the Spaniard collected 4 retirements, but managed to score points in the other 5 races, of which the best result was fourth place in Argentina.

Rumors in the paddock gave the Spaniard, winner of the 125 world championship in 2006, a possible return to the Noale house, given the close expiration of the contract with Jorge Martínez's team, but this morning the official announcement arrived of the renewal of the contract for another year, always with the Aspar team. The team sponsored by Pull & Bear, during the Le Mans weekend, had also renewed the motorbike supply contract with Ducati, which from next year should make available 2 GP17s, those used this year by: Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo and Danilo Petrucci, or a GP17 and a GP16 (here the complete news)

Jorge Martínez, General Director of the Aspar Team, commented on the contract renewal as follows: “It is good news for the Pull & Bear Aspar Team to have reached this agreement with Álvaro Bautista: we believe in him and we are having a great season. We also have a lot of trust in Ducati, we have great support from the factory and, through the extension of this relationship, together we can improve even more. We hope to be able to collect even more points this year, and that next season goes even better."

Alvaro Bautista said: “I'm happy to spend another season as a member of the Pull & Bear Aspar family. It's a union that can help both the team and me grow. We are having a solid season, I have a good relationship with the team and I feel very comfortable on the Ducati and with the factory support. I think we could continue to improve and get good results.”
