MotoGP Barcelona: Valentino Rossi, “Aim for the podium”

GP Barcelona MotoGP Yamaha Preview – Valentino Rossi arrives in Catalunya after fourth place in Mugello. The Yamaha champion is aiming for the podium, the podium he missed in the Italian Grand Prix also due to a lack of preparation, due to the fall with the motocross bike resulting in hospitalization.

Rossi would have preferred to have a week to recover better, but he immediately returns to the track for the seventh round of the 2017 world championship. On the Barcelona circuit he boasts an impressive streak of podiums, from 1997 to 2009. In the MotoGP class he won in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2016 and only finished off the podium 4 times in 20 races. The word is up to him.

“I would have liked to have had a week's break after the Mugello race to recover in the best possible way. However, I am happy with the race I did, I drove well and in Barcelona I hope to be able to improve, I would like to go on the podium – said Valentino Rossi – Barcelona is a circuit that I really like, even if it is a track with less grip and we will have to try to find a good set-up to ensure that the tires work at their best. We will also have a test day on Monday and will use it to test other solutions. This is another Grand Prix where there is a great atmosphere, with so many enthusiastic fans.
