MotoGP Barcelona, Qualifying: Nicky Hayden “I would like to be more consistent with my race pace”
Seventh time for the American from Ducati
Nicky Hayden (also due to the higher temperature) was unable to have the same feeling in qualifying in Barcelona as he found in Free Practice 3. In the afternoon he was therefore "forced" to change the setup of his Desmosedici GP12, finishing in seventh place. The word is up to him.
“This morning I set decent times on hard tyres, which made me think I could get the second row in qualifying. Instead, in the afternoon, the feeling was no longer the same from the start of the session and we had to slightly change the bike's set-up. In the end I did a good lap and, even though I couldn't go below 1'42, I still got the seventh fastest time. I would like to be more consistent with my race pace because tomorrow tire life could be crucial but perhaps the temperature will be cooler and this could help us.”
