Loris Capirossi and his team have made big changes to his GSV-R today in Barcelona and are confident that this is the right direction to go in improving the bike's set-up. Capirossi completed 23 laps setting a best time of 1'44.641. This guaranteed him a placing just outside the top 10, but the gap between Capirossi and the riders in front of him is much smaller than in recent weeks and the Italian driver is convinced he can reduce it further over the course of the weekend.

“Today we started with a bike similar to the one we had in Assen, but we completely changed the set-up for weight distribution and I must say that the situation at the front has improved, although not enough. We still have problems in some corners and we need to find a solution for those too. We have some ideas about it, but we also need to work on the engine braking and traction control to adapt them to this circuit. Overall it's not as bad as Assen, but we still need to improve. We are closer to the riders in front of us, we must continue to work in this direction to further reduce the gap.”
