GP Catalunya MotoGP Honda Race – Dani Pedrosa, after yesterday's extraordinary pole, was unable to be equally concrete in the race, finishing in third position. Despite the difficulties, however, the #26 is satisfied with his race especially for having collected important points.

The Spaniard's race started very well, then first Lorenzo then Marquez, they overtook him. It was a matter of a few laps before the HRC driver returned to testing: “I was first, I tried not to push too much because the front tire was suffering a lot. We were all very close and there was no way to create a gap because every time I tried to push he closed in front of me. I often saw Dovizioso alongside me on the straight and I understood that it would be tough. When both he and Marc passed me I no longer had tires to keep up with their pace."

On the result, Dani Pedrosa said: “I'm happy with third place. On days like these, being able to get on the podium is always very difficult. Today we had a great chance to win which we didn't take advantage of, but we must be happy for having collected some important points. We have to work a lot in anticipation of the next races."

The winner of the race, Andrea Dovizioso, managed the tires for many laps, remaining in the Spaniard's slipstream and not attempting to attack: “I knew that Dovizioso had more, I saw that he closed the throttle early before the braking at Turn 1. Maybe he had something more in the tyres, I don't know, but his pace today was better”.
