Nicky Hayden finished the Catalunya GP, sixth stage of the 2009 world championship, in tenth place. The American Ducati rider was hoping for something more but today was the best he could muster. Tomorrow there will finally be the first post-race test and together with the team he will try to make the most of it to best test the innovations brought by Ducati. The word is up to him.

“I was hoping for something more but, realistically, at the moment, it was the best I could do. I started from behind but made several overtakes and managed to progress throughout the race. In the final stages I got very close to Kallio but I pushed too hard to try to pass him, I made a couple of mistakes, and he beat me. In short, a result that certainly cannot be defined as spectacular but there was certainly a step forward. Throughout the weekend I managed to stay closer to the riders in front, we worked well and understood many things about the bike. I can't wait to get back on track tomorrow for testing to continue working in the direction we finally seem to have found.”
