MotoGP – Barcelona – Loris Capirossi: ”Great result”

Excellent race for Loris Capirossi today in Barcelona, ​​where the Imola native achieved a fifth place finish. The Suzuki rider could perhaps have even fought for fourth position if Pedrosa hadn't slowed him down in the initial stages of the race. However, the race was positive and the new engine evolution was certainly useful on a track with long straights. Capirossi thanked Suzuki and his mechanics one by one. The word is up to him.

“This was the same position as Mugello, but it's something else because we worked so hard to achieve this great result. The whole team, particularly Stuart, has worked so hard to get to where we are today. After qualifying I didn't have the best feeling and Stuart worked with the guys until late to find a solution. He made some changes this morning and the bike was performing much better. During the race I maintained my pace, after a good start and when I arrived in Pedrosa I lost some time and therefore missed the pace of the best. Otherwise I think I could have fought for fourth position and I could have achieved a better result. I want to thank Suzuki because they brought a new engine there was an improvement compared to the previous one. I think if I had had this engine at Mugello I could have been on the podium! Above all I would like to thank all my guys individually Stuart, Ian, Gary, Jeff, George, Jez Tex they all did a great job and without them I wouldn't have achieved this result today!”
