Jorge Lorenzo he closed the Catalunya GP in 4th place, his "real" home race, Barcelona being the city where he has lived for years. The Spaniard got off to a flying start and was in the lead at the first corner, followed by his team mate Rossi, but then he was overtaken by the top three in a few laps, thus failing to implement his usual race plan: the breakaway. The Majorcan remained like this for the entire race, a few seconds behind the top three, enjoying up close the incredible brawl that Marquez, Rossi and Pedrosa had until the end.

“I'm a little sorry – said Jorge Lorenzo – we knew that the others were very strong and that Vale had excellent pace. I wasn't in a bad situation also because the track wasn't very cold, but unfortunately I wasn't able to create a gap with the other riders on the first lap. When Vale passed me I couldn't ride like when I'm in the lead alone. The bike was good under braking, but in the last two corners, a point where we were very strong in the last two years, this year we weren't doing well. Then I started to lose grip in acceleration and when I tried to catch Dani it was impossible to catch him, because only in a few corners I was able to recover a little from him. It was a shame, if we had had fewer problems in acceleration, I would have risked the victory. I repeat, we were strong in braking but we lost too much in the last two corners, so I couldn't do anything more."

Strange, at the end of the race in the pits both he and the others were looking at the front, but Jorge only talks about problems with the rear, in any case to me it didn't seem as effective in braking as Rossi was and as the Hondas were, second I think they did something wrong with the bike's set-up due to the lower temperatures.
