LCR Honda rider Cal Crutchlow put in a good performance, finishing just outside the Top Ten at the Catalunya Grand Prix. It was an at times frustrating weekend for the Briton, who crashed 3 times between Friday and Saturday but was finally able to secure 5 precious points in this seventh round of the MotoGP World Championship. Crutchlow faced an uphill race, after qualifying in 17th position on the starting grid and recording the 18th time during the Warm-up. Despite these assumptions and some difficulties with the choice of tyres, the 31-year-old highlighted his skills and fighting spirit, gaining 6 positions and finishing the race in 11th place, immediately after Maverick Viñales.

Here are the words of Cal Crutchlow: “I managed to finish the race and that's probably the main thing. It was definitely not my best day on a motorbike, but I'm quite satisfied given that I started from 17th position. We had problems during the race and all weekend but, as crazy as it sounds, I was pretty confident that I could get closer to the podium. I chose the hard tire thinking that the others' tires would fail... but our choice didn't turn out to be correct starting from the warm-up lap, and it was then difficult for the whole race. I think we managed the weekend quite well. We started in an unfavorable position, having qualified in 17th position and having made some mistakes; Honda did a great job, finally allowing Marc and Dani to get on the podium. It was obviously difficult to compete with a Ducati capable of recovering 4 tenths of a second on Pedrosa on the straight; Dovi did a great job, I'm really happy for him.”
