Great performance today in Barcelona for Alvaro Bautista, one of the "Rookies" of the 2010 MotoGP. The Suzuki rider took his GSV-R 800cc to fifth position after a race that was all on the attack. For Bautista, after the problems that arose after the first races, this is a real breath of fresh air. He has the microphone.

“I'm very happy because this fifth position is like winning the race after the last ones we've had. We really needed this result, for me, for my team and above all for Suzuki. I was very strong all weekend and I was confident that I could have a good race. I was very focused at the start because I knew that if I started well I could stay with the group in front. I did it, but I had a bit of trouble in the race with the sudden braking, because I didn't feel the bike in the corners like in practice. I had a good pace in the race and tried to control what was happening behind me and go for a good result. In the last laps I saw that Spies was coming very fast and I tried to push a little more, but the rear tire was finished and I couldn't do any more, so I turned tight on the last lap to make sure I took fifth position. I want to say thank you to everyone, my team, Suzuki and Rizla sponsors and especially everyone who was here to support me, all my fans and my family.”
