MotoGP Barcelona: Alex De Angelis “First very important point, I thank the whole team”

Best result of the year for Alex De Angelis who, also thanks to the numerous falls, finished the Catalunya GP in 15th place and therefore scored the first point of the season for him and the Art of the Iodaracing team.
The San Marino driver, who started well from the tenth row, managed to gain some positions during the first lap, joining the group in front of him between Nicky Hayden and Hector Barberà. As the laps went by, Alex De Angelis kept his pace constant, finishing the race in fifteenth position, despite some grip problems caused by the very hot asphalt which consequently lowered the grip.

“We had a race as we had expected – said Alex De Angelis – We managed to do about seven laps with the group in front of me and this makes me very happy because with the means we have it seemed almost impossible. Then the bike started to slide a lot and the group separated me, so I preferred to maintain my pace to bring home this first point which is very important for us and repays us for all the efforts we make every day. I thank the team because in the garage, like me on the track, they put their soul into what they do. Now come the races in Northern Europe which can be positive for us because there are no long straights and in addition to that the rain is more likely and the wet conditions can help us to try to gain more points."
