Pecco Bagnaia was a guest on BSMT, Gianluca Gazzoli's podcast, and discussed a variety of topics. Among them was finding himself back alongside Marc Marquez, Valentino Rossi's longtime rival.

Pecco, who is part of the VR46 Riders Academy, heard this and explained it, demonstrating that the fight between Rossi and Marquez is still current.

We recall that some time ago Rossi, through the podcast hosted by Andrea Migno, MigBabol, had lashed out heavily against the Spaniard, guilty of having made him lose his tenth world title, in the now famous 2015.

Rossi had defined the Spaniard as the rider “more dirty” he has ever raced against, referring to the fact that he lost his tenth title.(you can read here Valentino Rossi's words about Marc Marquez released to Andrea Migno's podcast).

Pecco Bagnaia's Statements on Marc Marquez vs. Valentino Rossi

“I definitely carried with me what happened in 2015,” Bagnaia said. “However, it's not fair because, ultimately, I'm just another rider and I'm just doing my job. Maybe Marquez felt this way because I'm a VR46 Riders Academy rider. He's the one who argued and argued with Vale. Are you asking me if this issue will ever be resolved? I don't think there's any need for it in the end. That's how it is, that's how it was.”

He then went on to talk about Valentino RossiVale is very involved in everything I do: throughout the year, we often meet for lunch or dinner, moments where we talk at length and he offers me a lot of useful insights. To give you an idea of how closely he follows the situation, he once even organized a dinner meeting with me and my crew chief to go over some aspects. The most important advice he gave me? I've received quite a few, but probably the most significant was to remember to celebrate and appreciate the results I achieve. At the beginning of the season, for example, I remember feeling really frustrated and angry about a third-place finish, when in reality it was a huge result considering the feeling I had with the bike and everything that happened later in the year.

Speaking about the support Ducati received during the 2025 season, he dispelled any doubts, clarifying that he was never boycotted: “I realized I was in difficulty because the bike was working differently than I expected. I made the mistake of thinking I was already at my best with the GP24, assuming the behavior would be identical. Instead, the bike had changed, and in trying to bring it back to the sensations of the previous version, I wasn't able to achieve what I wanted. Since 2025, I've learned to pay more attention and describe the problems I experience more precisely. Ducati has supported me at every stage: they accommodated every request, even the strangest ones. My mechanics deserve a statue for all the times they disassembled and reassembled the bike. The support I received was enormous. Hearing about alleged boycotts against me was hard.: even if they are just fantasies, the team is made up of people who can suffer from these insinuations.”
