GP Austria MotoGP Red Bull Ring Spielberg Preview Michelin – After the stage in the Czech Republic, the MotoGP is ready for its eleventh stage, at the Red bull Ring in Spielberg for the Austrian Grand Prix.

On the Brno track the uncertain weather played a major role, but despite the difficult conditions, the Michelin tires did an excellent job. After the race, the MotoGP teams stopped another day at the circuit for a day of testing, during which they had the opportunity to try the tires that the French manufacturer will bring from next year.

Now all eyes are on the Red Bul Ring, where the Austrian Grand Prix will take place on Sunday. It is the second time that the MotoGP has stopped on the Spielberg track after an absence of 18 years from the calendar. The shape of the track, made up of a total of 10 corners, puts stress on the right side of the tyre, the side with the greatest support given the 7 corners, compared to the 3 on the left. It's a very fast track and the asphalt is very abrasive.

The three front compounds that Michelin will bring will all be symmetrical, while at the rear they will all be asymmetrical. Due to the location, nestled in the Austrian hills, the weather changes very quickly, so the French manufacturer will bring soft and medium wet compounds, with asymmetric rears.

These words Piero Taramasso, Michelin two-wheel section manager: “The current period is a very intense one for us. After the Brno race, we did a test session before heading directly to Austria. Last year, we had a very positive weekend at the Red Bull Ring. Our tires had performed well under an extreme range of ambient and track temperatures. The first day was cold, but on race day it was around 30 degrees on the track. The longevity of the tires had proven satisfactory and at the end of the race the track record had also been established. This circuit has a unique design, with two true left-handers. Last year, we made tires very suitable for this track design available to the drivers and this year too we will have competitive and high-performance products on this interesting circuit. The 2016 run was impressive and I'm sure it will be the same this year. We will do everything we can to ensure that our tires make this race as exciting and captivating as possible.”

Well... let them do as they want, compete on their own, if they don't explode they will certainly be competitive and high-performance... you know what an effort it is.
