GP Austria MotoGP Suzuki Race – Andrea Iannone finished the Austrian Grand Prix in eleventh position.

A not brilliant performance for the rider, who won here last year on Ducati, but the gap compared to the leaders has narrowed slightly. There is still a lot to do, but the weekend, at least in free practice, went very well. In the race, Suzuki suffers a lot from tire wear, a problem that prevented the rider from Vasto from entering the top ten. But there are also important steps forward, since the beginning of the season the Abruzzo rider has always suffered when braking, but since the last two races things have been improving.

These are the words of Andrea Iannone: “For me this weekend was positive, despite the final position not being satisfactory. We have made some improvements and closed the gap. At many points during the weekend we were close to the competitiveness we would like to have. We know that we fight more in the race. We suffer with the decline in tire performance, but we are working on this and I see positive feedback from Suzuki. The solution is achievable, but not as immediate as we want, so we need to keep working. I can see I'm not the only one, everyone is making an effort to try to improve. This is something I really appreciate and I will do my best to give them what they deserve. We have to be patient, but in these last two races we have learned a lot; this will be helpful. Here in Austria we suffered a lot with tire wear, maybe with the electronics we can solve the problem, and also with some improvements in the chassis or setup. At the same time we have significantly improved braking, which was a crucial point for me. This means that little by little we are arriving.”
