MotoGP Austin: Marc Marquez, “Nice pole, but in the race it will be a good fight with the Yamahas”

Marc Marquez MotoGP 2016 Grand Prix of The Americas Honda Repsol – Marc Marquez took pole position at the Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. For the Honda rider it is the second pole of the season, the fourth consecutive in Austin, the thirty-second in MotoGP. “I'm happy, everything went well, I had a good lap and I feel quite strong on the pace too. The two Yamahas are much closer and tomorrow will be a good fight. We still struggle in acceleration and I'm trying to ride more "Yamaha Style" – said Marc Marquez – Tomorrow the tires and the weather conditions we will encounter will be fundamental."

In qualifying you used two bikes, can you explain why? “This way I can use two new front tires and try to push as hard as I can. I felt good with both bikes and I had already done it in Argentina.”

The bike seems to have improved a lot compared to the winter tests. “We have made a good step forward, but the bike is essentially that of Qatar. We are working very well with the team and we will be able to see something new once we return to Europe."
