The third free practice session of the MotoGP class was characterized by the weather. At the Assen TT the rain fell as soon as the riders took the pit lane to enter the track.

Immediately everyone went back inside, waiting for better weather. Since there was no improvement, rain tires were fitted. The first to take to the track was Bradley Smith, with the Team Tech 3 Yamaha, followed by Valentino Rossi. However, the two did not complete the entire lap and immediately returned to the pits.

Instead, Yonny Hernandez, Aleix Espargarò, Alvaro Bautista, Scott Redding, Colin Edwards and Hector Barberà always did it with the rains. With a few minutes to go the riders were able to put slick tires back on and the fastest was Valentino Rossi, who lapped in 1:34.650. Alvaro Bautista tried to get back into the Top Ten, but he was unable to overtake Andrea Dovizioso. The Spaniard from Team Gresini will therefore be forced to take part in Q1.

The combined ranking of the first three sessions has therefore not undergone any shakes and Aleix Espargarò, Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Iannone, Bradley Smith will directly access Q2 (where pole will be contested in the 15′ of the Time Attack). , Valentino Rossi, Pol Espargarò, Stefan Bradl and Andrea Dovizioso.

Now it's clearer to me why everyone worked like crazy yesterday afternoon and I think the conclusions are that in Honda, if they want, they fix the bike on pace and on qualifying much quicker than the factory Yamaha and once again it was seen how Jorge and his team work faster than in Rossi's garage, and I don't know if it's Galbusera's fault, which is true that it's his first year with these bikes, we'll see next season, but in Rossi's garage they have us put more and more into fine-tuning the bike in recent years.

Or maybe he's the one who needs a bike so special to go fast that it's not always possible to give it to him and as a little something goes wrong he pays dearly in terms of lap time... a problem that Stoner certainly didn't have, and this seems indisputable to me... .

In my opinion everyone needs a good bike to go fast and the better it is the faster you go, regardless of the rider, Stoner like Marquez seem to get it right quicker, but it's not like if Stoner had a bad bike he was going fast in any case or if it wasn't in order he also struggled with the problems, sometimes he managed to patch things up, other times he spread himself out especially with Ducati, with a more advanced bike on the electronic side like the Honda was, already in 2011 in my opinion he started to do less chapels but also because he no longer needed to push beyond the limit given that the bike gave him a margin, like what Marquez has today with the Honda and then I think it's also a question of confidence in the vehicle and in oneself and now Marquez in that no one beats him.

However, this afternoon in FP4 before it started to rain I saw some Yamahas, the factory ones and the TechIII ones, moving very, very grumpy like the Hondas were a couple of years ago, much too nervous, it certainly wasn't very good today, they were going strong but not like the Hondas, not with the same stability or their usual stability, you can see that they are at the limit and trying to go further.
