Jorge Lorenzo he closed the first day in Aragon in 7th place, 7 tenths behind Andrea Dovizioso's Ducati. The Movistar Yamaha team rider is certainly not enthusiastic about this first day on Iberian soil, even if he claims he still has big margins for improvement. Furthermore, tomorrow it will be important to lap as much as possible to understand which compound to use in the race, this is a choice that he certainly didn't get right in the last Misano GP.

“Today we used completely different tires from those brought to the track by the others – said Jorge Lorenzo – Valentino didn't like the hard front very much, I don't know if he tried the soft in the last laps, but for me it's better with the soft. Tomorrow, however, we want to try it again to see if we can be consistent from a race perspective. Of course we didn't start in the best possible way, we are far from the leaders, but what makes me believe that we are the ones making mistakes is that I am also far from my best lap done here last year, so I know that we still have room to improve. Physically and mentally I feel great, but the bike still needs to improve a little. Tomorrow we will also try different setups, so I hope to continue improving."
