Aragon GP Michelin MotoGP – This weekend the MotoGP stops in Aragon, for the 14th round of the 2017 MotoGP.

The Spanish circuit is a very difficult testing ground for Michelin tyres, in fact, in addition to the medium abrasive surface, the weather conditions change very quickly during the day, with very pronounced temperature changes.

The Spanish track is very technical, its layout includes slow and fast corners and a long straight of almost a kilometre. The circuit measures 5.077m to be precise and has 10 left turns and 7 right turns. On the occasion of the Aragon Grand Prix, Michelin will make the usual three compounds available to the riders: Soft, medium and hard, both on the front and rear. The three front compounds will all be symmetrical, while at the rear they will all be asymmetrical with the left side harder to cope with the numerous left-hand turns.

These words Piero Taramasso, Michelin two-wheel section manager: “Aragón was a challenge for us last year, as the mornings were very cold and it was the first time we visited the track, so we had a lot to learn. We collected a large amount of data from the weekend and it helped us improve the tires for conditions like that. The climate in Aragón can be cool thanks to its location and it is also a very technical circuit, with a medium abrasive surface, so it is a track that requires special attention. During the race last year, the durability and consistency of the tires was very good and we are trying to give the drivers the tires needed to push even harder this year. We have had some good results this season and we want to continue with this momentum, it will certainly be another exciting fight for the championship before the three consecutive races in a row.”
