Marc Marquez would have liked to win in front of his fans last Sunday in Aragon. The world championship leader, after having obtained the pole with a record, paid for his inexperience in the race when he crashed a few laps from the end while he was on the track in the rain with slicks. Once back on the saddle he returned to the pits, changed bikes and in the end maintained the gap on the second in the general classification, his team-mate Dani Pedrosa, who crashed just before him. Here's what Marquez said from his blog.

“Hello everyone, I would have liked to give you another race finale, but I couldn't do it! However, it was a weekend where we still learned and gained experience and this is always positive. The truth is that we worked a lot and after Friday and Saturday we would have liked to be great protagonists. We knew there was a chance of rain on Sunday, but it started raining halfway through the race and that made for an unusual and crazy race. I have to admit that it was my mistake not to go and change the bike. Lap after lap I was doing my calculations and I really believed I could get ahead of the riders who had changed bikes. I crashed, but if I hadn't crashed in that corner it would have happened in another one, because there was no way to manage the tires in those conditions. I also didn't see Dani fall behind me just before I did. If I had seen it maybe I would have changed the bike sooner. The mistake was a result of my lack of experience in these conditions but I take this weekend as a positive lesson and there are other good insights: we managed to get some points and we still have a margin in the general classification.”

Marquez then spoke about his brother Alex, the new leader of the Moto3 world championship: “Of course, the best thing about the weekend is that my brother Alex is the new leader of the ranking! He deserves it, he works without ever stopping and he ran an incredible race in Aragon. He keeps working hard, little brother! Among other things, as you know, I am an ambassador for the International Motorcycling Federation and as such, I had the honor of having the Kiss Motorland sticker on my bike. Now we go to Japan, where the first of three races in a row begins. I would like to be able to close the championship in Motegi, at Honda's home ground, it would be really nice. "
