Aleix Espargarò, Forward Racing rider, can't wait to get on his Yamaha Open on the Montmelò circuit. For the Spanish driver this is truly his home GP, he in fact grew up just 3 km from the track, so much so that when he was at school he could hear the roar of the engines. For the occasion he will take to the track for the race with a special livery, a commemorative suit and a new helmet. The word is up to him.

“The Catalunya Grand Prix is truly my home race. I grew up just 3km away from the track and I remember that as a child, when I went to school, you could hear the noise of the motorbikes going around the track from the classroom. It's a really special circuit for me and it goes without saying that my goal is to do well in this race. I really like the track and I know every single meter perfectly. There is a long straight, one of the longest in the Championship and we know we will struggle in terms of top speed, but I love the driving part and I'm really motivated to do well.”

His team-mate Colin Edwards will continue to test the new chassis already used at Mugello: “Barcelona is always one of my favorite races. After the first official ride on the new frame, I'm excited to get back to work to continue the development of the new parts. We will focus on the electronics, but we will also try new set ups. If everything goes well it will definitely be a great weekend.”
