MotoGP | Thailand GP Sprint Race, Fernandez: "We have to stay calm."
"Thinking about the title would not be realistic, the objective is the Top 5", the Spaniard said.
MotoGP Aprilia Trackhouse Racing GP Thailand –
Third place which is worth much more than a simple podium for Raul fernandez, in the Sprint Race in Thailand. The team's driver Trackhouse Racing He showed maturity, clarity, and evident growth. A result built intelligently, the fruit of a solid preseason and an encouraging start to the season, but approached with realism and a firm foothold. The Spaniard isn't hiding: no World Championship illusions, just hard work, experience, and clear objectives. With an Aprilia he knows increasingly well and a perhaps conservative but effective strategy, the Spaniard sends a strong message from the Chang International Circuit: when the opportunity presents itself, he's there.
Raul Fernandez, Sprint Race GP Thailand
“It's the first time I've been around Marc. I wanted to stay calm and understand how he rides. I don't have everything under control, I'm not doing what I want 100%. We're using our heads a lot this year. We had a good preseason and a good start to the season, but we have to stay calm. We're not title contenders; we're the riders who are there when they can and gain experience when they can't. For me, the bike is similar to last year. There's still some work to do, but we're doing well, and I don't want to think about the title because I don't think it's realistic. The goal is a top five or seven. I have to learn, understand, and stay the same as I did today. Marco (Bezzecchi, ed.) is a title contender. His bike has more, but that's no excuse. I'm talking about what I saw today. Maybe we went with a conservative strategy. The bike is the same, but I hurt myself in the last tests. This year we had a good meeting with Aprilia, but we haven't changed anything; we've understood the bike.”
