MotoGP | Portuguese GP Free Practice 1: Marc Marquez in the lead, Morbidelli is fifth
Slower track due to weather conditions compared to the first session of 2023
MotoGP Portuguese GP Free Practice 1 – Marc Marquez was the fastest in the first free practice session of the Portuguese Grand Prix, the second round of the 2024 MotoGP.
The eight-time world champion took the lead on Gresini Racing's Ducati Desmosedici GP with a time of 1:40.484, a time that allowed him to beat Maverick Vinales' Aprilia by 0.165s.
The KTMs of Brad Binder and Jack Miller occupy third and fourth positions ahead of the Ducati of Franco Morbidelli (Pramac Racing).
“Soft” who has a gap from the top of 0.377s is ahead of his teammate Jorge Martin and the best of the Yamahas, that of Alex Rins.
Closing out the Top Ten are Miguel Oliveira with the Aprilia Trackhouse, Alex Marquez with the second Ducati Gresini and Joan Mir with the best Honda.
Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) is 11th, ahead of our Fabio di Giannantonio (Ducati VR46 Racing Team) and the two-time Top Class champion Pecco Bagnaia.
Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati VR46 Racing Team), Enea Bastianini (Ducati Factory) and Luca Marini (Honda Factory) are in 18th, 19th and 21st position respectively.
