MotoGP GP San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Misano Mooney VR46 – Marco Bezzecchi finished in second place in the Sprint Race of the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Grand Prix, held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

The Ducati Mooney VR46 Racing Team rider tried to beat Jorge Martin, but the Ducati Pramac Team pole-man was having a day of grace and "Bez" was still sore with his left hand injured in Barcelona.

The #72 Ducati also commented on the performance of Dani Pedrosa, KTM tester and in the past one of the "Fantastic Four".

“At the start I had a problem with the lowerer and I lost a bit then I managed to recover, but towards the end I started to struggle in T1, which is why Jorge (Martin) was elastic. I chased him just to escape from those behind him because I knew he was too fast. I made many mistakes due to the pain in my hand, I wasn't precise. It affected me in a bit, but Jorge was very fast. I don't know if I would have been able to do more with my 'normal' hand. I started fast, but when Jorge overtook me at the first corner I didn't brake enough to free him, then at turn two the same thing happened. Then at 4 he came unstuck and then I went fast the next lap. I'm happy that the sprint is over because with mine the bike is calmer and the bike rests more. We won't see these times tomorrow, but maybe it's better."

Statements Marco Bezzecchi on Dani Pedrosa fourth Sprint Race GP San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Misano MotoGP 2023

“I'm not surprised by Dani's performance, he's always been fast, it's true that he did some tests here, but let's not forget that he is one of the “Fantastic Four” (along with Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo, ed.).
