MotoGP | GP Silverstone Race: Bagnaia, “One of my best victories”

British GP Silverstone Ducati MotoGP 2022 – Pecco Bagnaia won the MotoGP class British Grand Prix held at Silverstone, the 12th round of the 2022 MotoGP.

The Ducati rider, who started from the second row, ran an intelligent race, taking the lead with 9 laps to go and resisting the attacks of Maverick Vinales, still on the podium with the Aprilia. For Bagnaia this is the fourth victory of the season, eighth in MotoGP. Bagnaia wanted to thank Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner, his trainer Carlo, Bezzecchi and Marini for their advice.

“A victory like Dovizioso? Being compared to Dovi is always a compliment that I appreciate. As for our race weekend, it wasn't easy, we struggled in both FP1 and FP2 and yesterday morning (FP3) I had no feeling with the front and rear grip. We put a hard tire and I would have liked to use a soft one up front, but it wouldn't have made it to the end of the race so we opted for the medium. I knew I would suffer, especially at the start of the race, I couldn't overdo it, I could recover something under braking but I lost on the exit. I'm very happy, it's one of the best victories, achieved on a weekend where we were struggling.”
