MotoGP GP Malaysia Repsol Honda – Marc Marquez was clear, the performance in testing at Sepang should not be deceiving and the goal was the Top Ten.

The Honda rider started from the front row, third fastest, and reached the finish line seventh, 14.304s behind the winner Pecco Bagnaia. Over the weekend he continued to work for Honda with a view to the future. Here's what he said to Sky Sport MotoGP.

Marc Marquez Statements Malaysian GP Sepang MotoGP 2022

“I'm happy with my weekend, Malaysia is one of those tracks on the calendar along with 2/3 others where I struggle more. In the winter tests I was the worst Honda, but now I'm better physically, I feel better and I had a solid race. I gave 100%, this was our potential, not what we showed yesterday. Today I pushed at the start, then I realized that that was the pace and that we couldn't give more. It will be important to relax physically this week to go on the attack in Valencia. This weekend we worked a lot for Honda until the warm up. We need to be closer to Ducati and Aprilia. Today I'm the best of the Hondas but I don't care, I'm looking at the gap to the leaders. I still feel like a child, I want to take risks, to push, the speed is still there and what I did yesterday is not a coincidence. We have more experience but there is still some recklessness and it is important.”
