MotoGP | Indonesian GP FP1: Honda sets the pace with Espargarò

MotoGP GP Indonesia Mandalika Free Practice 1 – Pol Espargarò set the best time in Free Practice 1 of the MotoGP class in Indonesia, where the second race of the 2022 MotoGP will take place on Sunday.

Right at the end of the session, the Honda rider took the lead with the RC213V with a time of 1:33.499, just 44 thousandths ahead of Miguel Oliveira's KTM.

Third time for Marc Marquez, with the Spaniard lapping in 1:33.587, putting Franco Morbidelli's Yamaha and Johann Zarco's Ducati Pramac behind him.

In reality, it was a session dominated by the Honda pair, who only let an easy "one-two" slip away at the end

Aprilia did well thanks to the sixth time of Aleix Espargarò who preceded Brad Binder (KTM) and the winner of Qatar, Enea Bastianini (Gresini).

Official Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia was only ninth, while Joan Mir (Suzuki) completed the top ten.

Andrea Dovizioso is out of the ten and finishes twelfth fastest on the RNF team Yamaha. Difficulties also for the reigning World Champion, Fabio Quartararo who did not do better than the sixteenth time. Luca Marini is also far away, only 22nd.

Rookie FP1 MotoGP GP Indonesia

The best rookie was Raul Fernandez, 13th, with the KTM of Team Tech 3. His team-mate Remy Gardner was 19th, while Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team), Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Gresini), Darryn Binder (Yamaha WithU RNF) occupy the 20th, 23rd and 24th positions respectively.
