MotoGP | Japanese GP Day 1: Bastianini, “It's a shame about the crash”

Japanese GP Gresini Racing – Unlucky day for Enea Bastianini at Motegi, the track where the Japanese Grand Prix, 16th stage of the 2022 MotoGP, is scheduled for Sunday.

The Team Gresini rider, winner last Sunday in Aragon (after a good duel with Pecco Bagnaia, his next team-mate in the Factory Ducati Team, ed.) actually slipped in the decisive moment of the session, finishing only 14th, less than half a second from the summit occupied by Jack Miller.

“It's a shame about the crash, because we had a good pace. At the beginning I tried to understand well the trajectories to follow with the MotoGP (Enea is one of those riders who has never ridden at Motegi with the Top Class, ed.), subsequently we changed the tires and made a change to the setting that I I liked it and I felt comfortable. Unfortunately in the second time-attack on the second flying lap my front end closed at 5 and I fell. In terms of pace we went strong, I was even in the lead but it wasn't easy with just one session.
