MotoGP | GP Aragon Day 1: Quartararo, “Happy with the race pace”
The Yamaha rider used both the old and new chassis tested at Misano
GP Aragon Monster Yamaha MotoGP 2022 – Fabio Quartararo started the weekend of the Aragon Grand Prix well, the 15th stage of the 2022 MotoGP.
The Yamaha rider, leader of the world championship with a 30 point advantage over Pecco Bagnaia, achieved the second fastest time and after the difficulties of FP1, found both the flying lap (just 74 thousandths of a second from Jorge Martin's best time, ed. ) than the race pace.
Here's what the #20 of the Tre Diapason manufacturer said to Sky Sport, having never done better than 5th place in Aragon.
Statements Fabio Quartararo Day 1 GP Aragon MotoGP 2022
“Like every Friday we're already good, but then the others take a step and it's difficult in the race. After this morning's difficulties where I wasn't consistent and had problems braking, I'm happy with the flying lap, but above all with the race pace found in FP2. We compared the old chassis and the new one, even if you don't feel big differences like in the Misano tests, because there is little grip here. I still got the time with the new one.”
