MotoGP – Andrea Dovizioso will take part in the last race of his MotoGP career next Sunday in Misano.

The rider from Forlì who was vice-champion of the MotoGP World Championship three times behind Marc Marquez (2017 – 2018 – 2019) spoke with his colleagues at Speedweek.com. Here's what "Dovi" said.

Andrea Dovizioso Statements His Last Race Misano MotoGP 2022

“I haven't been an aggressive driver, but I don't see it negatively. Everyone wants to see aggressive drivers, but I don't care. Let me explain. I always study my opponent. And if you look at the end of Capirossi and Rossi's careers, they became diplomats. In my opinion, they did it because they realized, even though they won a lot and were two of the best drivers in the world, that it is impossible to show everyone the truth. Eventually, you realize, 'Why do I have to fight and use my energy and explain something they'll never understand?' For me, it is not important to hear what others think, because they cannot know the truth in detail. They may understand some things, but if you're not the person, you never know. After all… what is important? Try to be smart. It's important to be good to people. I try to be relaxed towards other people. Unless you do something against me, I will never be mean to you. Never. Maybe I'm too good. But other than that, I don't care."

Statements Andrea Dovizioso Fights with Marc Marquez

“What happened between me and Marc was a bit strange, because I think he was always very close to the limit, sometimes even above that, even with me. But when I fought him, nothing bad came of it. I think it was a consequence of how I raced against him. It was a bit strange, but in the end it was very nice because nothing ever happened between us. Most of the time he was close, but my way of fighting him was different from the others. With most drivers, the motto was: 'You brake late, I brake later. You are aggressive, I am more aggressive.' I think that's the worst thing that could be done with Marc. I was aware of it, so I didn't act that way.”
