Misano 2021 MotoGP – Paolo Simoncelli retraced the many emotions experienced during the weekend of the Made in Italy Grand Prix and the Emilia-Romagna Race, 16th stage of the 2021 MotoGP.

Ten years after the death of his son, Marco Simoncelli, who passed away on 23 October 2011 in that tragic Sepang, an oak tree was planted at the bend of the same name in Marco's honour.

Here's what Paolo Simoncelli said in this regard, who spoke of special and intimate moments.

Statements Paolo Simoncelli 'an oak at the bend of the oak' Marco Simoncelli

“This weekend made me experience some special moments, the oak planting ceremony, the “Sic oak”, was very intimate. It was incredible how, during a gloomy day, a ray of sunshine managed to filter through, radiating a magical rainbow. It was beautiful. At dusk in Coriano the 58-second flame started from the monument that Lino Dainese gave us. I appreciated the respectful and almost surreal silence. It was a truly touching moment of gathering, very heartfelt on my part and on my mother's part. My entire team took part and I thank them for being close to us and the whole world simply for being there. I say yes to the whole world, because I have heard the French, Spanish and Germans speak... I know that those who were not there experienced this anniversary in front of the news or on social media and even if I don't know you, simply THANK YOU."
