MotoGP GP Spain Jerez Repsol Honda Team – Nine months later, Marc Marquez returned to the Jerez track, the same one where he crashed in July 2020 after a splendid comeback, fracturing the humerus of his right arm.

From there a hasty return (again to Jerez, where last year two races took place in a row, ed.) and three operations. On the first day of testing for the Spanish Grand Prix he didn't want to push too hard to preserve his physical condition, finishing 16th. Here's what the eight-time world champion had to say.

Statements Marc Marquez Spanish GP Jerez Day 1

“The weekend's approach was a little different to Portimao, our aim is to keep the physical conditions as constant as possible throughout the weekend, so today we didn't push as much. Tomorrow it's time to push and overall I feel pretty good on the bike, I'm happy with where we are at the moment. There is still some work to do on the physical side, my position on the bike is not perfect yet but we manage to push when we need to. We continue to work and improve step by step.”
