MotoGP | GP Barcelona Qualifying: Quartararo on pole, Morbidelli 5th, Rossi 11th
Fifth consecutive pole for "El Diablo", Miller and Zarco on the front row
MotoGP Catalan GP Barcelona Qualifying – The magical moment of Fabio Quartararo continues, author of the fifth consecutive pole at Montmelò in Barcelona (it hadn't happened in Yamaha since 2010, when Jorge Lorenzo obtained them from Silverstone to Laguna Seca, ed.) and the fifteenth in MotoGP.
“El Diablo” achieved it with a time of 1:38.853, bringing his Yamaha M1 ahead of the official Ducati of Jack Miller, who passed from Q1 and was a great protagonist together with another Ducatista, Johann Zarco, Team Pramac, third on the grid .
Miguel Oliveira with the KTM is fourth ahead of Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha Petronas), closing the second row is Maverick Vinales, who from this race has as his technical chief Silvano Galbusera, ex Valentino Rossi and who has taken the place of Esteban Garcia.
Third row for Aleix Espargarò's Aprilia, seventh and ahead of Brad Binder's KTM and Francesco Bagnaia's Ducati who certainly expected a little more. “Pecco” suffers a gap from the top of just over half a second.
Joan Mir (Suzuki) will open the fourth row with the tenth fastest time, where he will be joined by Valentino Rossi (Yamaha Petronas) and Pol Espargarò (Honda Repsol).
The “Doctor” slipped at the beginning of the session and then was unable to get beyond eleventh place. Marc Marquez, who had failed to pass Q1, will start from 13th place ahead of: Nakagami, Martin, Lecuona, Bastianini, Petrucci, Marini, Alex Marquez and Savadori.
