MotoGP | Barcelona GP Qualifying: Petrucci, “We can't take advantage of the new tyre”

MotoGP 2021 GP Catalunya Barcelona KTM Tech3 Factory Racing – Sixth row for Danilo Petrucci in qualifying for the Catalan Grand Prix, seventh stage of the 2021 MotoGP scheduled for tomorrow on the Montmelò circuit in Barcelona.

The KTM (Team Tech 3) rider from Terni obtained the eighteenth position with a time of 1'39.744. The race pace isn't bad, but "Petrux" wasn't able to take advantage of the new tire in the time-attack and this jeopardized qualifying.

“As often this year, we weren't able to take advantage of the new tire on the fastest lap and we weren't able to make a difference. Our pace shown in FP4 is quite good, but qualifying was once again very difficult for us. Unlike the others I can't go fast in the first run, while I am in the second. It's good for the race pace, but tomorrow will be tough, I'm slow on the straight and there's a big gap with the others. Tomorrow we will do our best to make up for it in the race and take some points.”
