First success in Top Class for the Ducati rider
MotoGP Gp Aragon Photo Gallery – The long-awaited victory in MotoGP has finally arrived for “Pecco” Bagnaia.
After setting the track record in qualifying, the Ducati rider ran a perfect race, beating a revived Marc Marquez, who gave up just a few corners from the finish line.
A strong success, given that Bagnaia countered the Honda rider's attack attempts blow for blow. After many missed opportunities due to errors or tire problems, a splendid victory arrived. On the podium, in addition to the Ducati and Honda riders, also the reigning champion Joan Mir.
Fourth on arrival was Aleix Espargarò (Aprilia), who confirmed himself among the protagonists after the podium in Aragon. The eldest of the Espargarò brothers preceded Jack Miller and a great Enea Bastianini, sixth in his rookie season, despite riding a 2019 Ducati.
Difficult race for world championship leader Fabio Quartararo, who reached the finish line eighth, behind Brad Binder (KTM) and ahead of Jorge Martin (Ducati Pramac). Danilo Petrucci (KTM Tech 3) finished fifteenth, while the race of Maverick Vinales (making his debut on the Aprilia), Valentino Rossi and Luca Marini, who finished in the last three places, was to be forgotten. In the world championship ranking Quartararo leads with 53 points over Bagnaia.
