MotoGP GP Valencia – During the Valencia Grand Prix Weekend, Andrea Iannone returned to the MotoGP garage after the CAS ruling which tightened the disqualification for Doping, bringing it to 4 years.

For the rider from Abruzzo it was an opportunity to say goodbye to his now ex-Aprilia team and to thank everyone who has been close to him over the last year. Interviewed by Sky Sport MotoGP, the Abruzzo native also admitted that he has no intention of leaving the paddock and that we will see him again soon, we don't yet know in what capacity, but he will be there.

Statements Andrea Iannone GP Valencia Condemns Doping

“It's not the time to talk about the sentence now because I prefer not to think about it. It's something I've been carrying with me for a year now. It's a difficult situation to digest. I came here to thank the entire MotoGP family who has been close to me throughout the troubled period and to say a final farewell to the members of the Aprilia Racing team. Rivola was an extraordinary person like the entire Piaggio Aprilia team who supported me incredibly. All the fans at home were great too. I will never forget all this, for better or for worse. For the moment I definitely still feel like a MotoGP rider, I still have to digest all this. I've never done anything else in my life. I don't know what will happen, maybe other paths will open up to me, I have received many interesting proposals to do different things that I didn't accept. This is my world and my life, I want to be here, in what way and in what capacity we will find out. We must continue to fight for our sport, because what happened is not something we can stomach. Obviously I'm not someone who sits at home doing nothing, I will certainly agree to help people in the world of motorcycling, I have knowledge that can be useful and I will try to do what I can. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart, now let's move forward and try to do many beautiful things, we must not give up."
